Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre (now Perley Health)

The Perley Rideau Family and Friends Council (FFC) was launched in February 2010. The Council meets the third Thursday of each month and provides families and friends of residents with a forum for discussion, learning and mutual support. These monthly meetings have provided an opportunity to hear speakers on a range of topics of interest to family members and residents. The 2017-2018 topics list included: Introducing Resident and Family Advisors Program Upcoming Changes at the Perley Rideau The Perley Rideau’s Strategic Direction – Serving the Communities Evolving Needs Role of the Resident Care Managers Support Services (Food and Nutrition, Laundry, Housekeeping, Security, IT…) Caring for the Caregiver-Self Care Key Updates on Nursing Care at the Perley Rideau Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts Dementia Care – From the Inside Out Meetings include updates from Perley Rideau management. As well, each meeting includes a confidential discussion during which family and friends can raise issues of concern without Perley Rideau management and staff being present.
