Extendicare McGarrell Place

Although the Family Council McGarrell Place has been in existence for over 14 years, as of June 2020 when we held our first virtual meeting, a new era began for our FC when a family-led Council was established after years of staff authority. A Meet and Greet for Council members took place and we became better acquainted with our direction and each other. We are a vigorous, engaged council now with big plans. Council Members are actively advocating with levels of government for change, long needed in the Long Term Care sector. Peer support, education opportunities including those offered by Family Councils Ontario exist along with our efforts to work with the Administration of McGarrell Place to ensure the best possible quality of life for all Residents
